Hi, I’m Margie and I'm a Fitness Trainer and Certified Personal Trainer. I’m also the owner of Fit To The Core, LLC, a health and fitness business with a private training studio located in Burlington, Connecticut. I became a fitness trainer in 1995 when, after working with a trainer myself, I realized I wanted to be able to help people experience the journey to improved health and fitness the same way I did.

Personal Fitness Background

I was always athletic as a child and teenager and enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing, basketball, girls’ track, and lifting weights. Once I entered the work force, however, things started to change and I didn’t make time for physical activity like I used to. By the time I hit my 30s I was out of shape. I hit a high on the scale, I didn’t like the way I looked, my clothes were getting very uncomfortable and I felt sluggish all the time. Something had to change.

My Life Was Changed Forever

So I joined a gym and started working out. I got to know a fitness trainer at the gym and I hired him to help me get myself back into shape. Ultimately, I got into the best shape of my life. I went from a very uncomfortable size 12 to a loose size 8. It was a very exciting, very positive, confidence-building experience and I felt great about myself and the progress I’d made.

Fitness Trainer and Loving It!

I knew I wanted to help others just as my fitness trainer and coach had helped me. I started to study, research and learn all I could about exercise and nutrition. The more I learned, the more I realized there was so much more to learn. Even now I wish there was more time in every day to read, research and learn more.

I spent some time working in gyms, but I knew I wanted to work for myself. I wanted to provide my clients with a truly private training session in an  environment free of the distractions of the typical gym setting. In 2001 I opened my first training studio out of my home in Barkhamsted. Then in 2004, after moving to Burlington, I opened Fit To The Core at its current location.

Now I continue to share my knowledge and expertise with others. I’m helping my clients to lose fat, improve their body composition and performance and decrease their risk of diseases. They’re feeling better about themselves, have more energy and look great. Some are getting so much more fit and healthy that their doctors are taking them off their medications.
